Janice Pomer

Performing Artist (dance/movement)

Janice Pomer is based in Tkaronto, Ontario and has been teaching, performing and creating in the fields of dance, music, and physical theatre since 1976 providing innovative movement experiences for learners of all ages and abilities in urban, rural, First Nation and northern communities across Canada.


Author of three internationally acclaimed books on movement education published by Human Kinetics USA; Perpetual Motion: Creative Movement Exercises for Dance & Dramatic Arts (2002) and Dance Composition: An Interrelated Arts Approach (2009) have been hailed as 'invaluable', 'dynamic' and 'multidimensional' by dancers and movement educators around the world.


Janice's newest book Elementary Dance Education: Nature-Themed Creative Movement and Collaborative Learning (2022) focuses on movement explorations inspired by Nature.
