Bethany Garner
Fibre Artist
A Resident Studio Artist at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, Bethany is a seasoned contemporary artist, Restoration Specialist, and Quilt Conservator. A retired Professor, Textile Design Program, St. Lawrence College with twenty years+ sharing instruction as a Fibre Arts Instructor. Beth has traveled widely across Canada, the US and the UK delivering courses in week-long, and one, two, and five-day formats. Nothing is more fun than working with other who love 'MAKING' and quilts as much as she does!
Recently serving Studio Art Quilt Associates, an International Art Quilts organization with 4500 members worldwide, Beth serves with several committees and loves participating as assistance is needed. Beth was selected as Curator for the first major SAQA Exhibition coming to Canada. She travels and shares her large vintage quilt/weaving blankets collection when possible.
Beth works with a 12-artist cohort, CLOTH IN COMMON, widely known for their textile art quilts seen worldwide. She enjoys her active membership with both the Kingston Fibre Artists, Quinte Fibre Artists and CONNECTIONS Fibre Artists groups in Ontario. She exhibits her work across Canada and the US, often in gallery settings and with group/Association exhibitions.
